DPS MIHAN, #Nagpur celebrated the 80th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour.
The program commenced with the rendering of the National Song, followed by the Flag Hoisting by the Chief Guest, Colonel (Dr.) Ivan Singh (Retd.), an Indian Army veteran, entrepreneur and social worker. After the flag hoisting, the gathering stood in solemn respect as the National Anthem, followed by the Maharashtra state song and a song in praise of our national flag, was sung with pride and patriotic fervour. President and Pro Vice-Chairperson Ms. Tulika Kedia and Director Ms. Savita Jaiswal joined the ceremony online and extended their greetings to all.
The Chief Guest, in his address, asserted that it is the youngsters who will shape India’s tomorrow with their talent and character. He highlighted the importance of teachers in guiding the young minds. In her address, the Principal, Ms Nidhi Yadav, urged the students to stay rooted in their culture and contribute to nation-building by serving as torchbearers with compassion and kindness.
Adding grace to the occasion was the House Trophy & Scholar Badge Distribution Ceremony. The ceremony celebrated young achievers whose consistent 3 years of study stood as an inspiration. Each trophy and badge was a testament to perseverance, discipline, and the pursuit of excellence.
The cultural segment showcased the rich Indian heritage with a graceful ‘Classical Bharatanatyam Dance’ performance. The atmosphere was filled with national pride as students presented a soulful Poem Recitation on ‘The Dawn of Freedom’ and a zealous ‘Patriotic Song’. The programme concluded with a powerful ‘Nukkad Natak’, which was the Special Presentation of the Day. The play conveyed a strong message on freedom from social evils and building a strong nation with patriotism and received a huge round of applause from the audience.
The Independence Day event, which coincided with ‘150 Years of Vande Mataram’, was a vivid expression of patriotism, talent, and discipline. Every act, from the flag hoisting to the Nukkad Natak, resonated with love for the nation. Students displayed remarkable grace, confidence, and commitment, reminding us of our duties as citizens. The celebration was more than a programme; it was a tribute to our freedom fighters and a promise from the young generation to build a stronger, united India, reflecting the theme "Yuva Shakti for Viksit Bharat@2047".
