“Enticing Travelogue – Connecting Culture and Crafts,” a Splendid Exhibition at DPS MIHAN

The Social Science Department of DPS MIHAN, #Nagpur organized an exhibition titled “Enticing Travelogue – Connecting Culture and Crafts,” featuring students from Grades III to XI. This exhibition was inspired by the CBSE initiative ‘Dekho Apna Bharat’ to promote tourism and highlight unique aspects of Indian handicrafts, unexplored tourist destinations, and geographical indications. Inaugurated by Ms. Savita Jaiswal, Director of DPS MIHAN and Kamptee Road, the event was also graced by the presence of Mr. Indrajit Parganiya, Bursar of DPS MIHAN and Kamptee Road, and Ms. Nidhi Yadav, Principal of DPS MIHAN, along with staff and students. The President and Pro-Vice Chairperson of DPS MIHAN, Ms. Tulika Kedia, attended the occasion virtually. The exhibition took visitors on a journey across India's Golden Quadrilateral, exploring its vibrant cultural diversity and craftsmanship. The four sections—Coruscating North, Exotic East, Magnificent South, and Enthralling West—displayed a stunning array of traditional arts and crafts, including bamboo artifacts, Tanjore paintings, and Madhubani paintings. Geographical indications such as Pashmina shawls, Paithani sarees, and Darjeeling tea gardens were also showcased, reflecting the richness of India’s cultural heritage.
