DPS MIHAN, #Nagpur proudly marked the inauguration of its state-of-the-art Natatorium on October 5, 2024, as a major step forward in promoting health, wellness, and excellence in sports among its students. Designed to support swimmers at every level—from beginners to aspiring athletes—the new facility aims to build both fitness and discipline.
This visionary project was led by the President and Pro-Vice Chairperson Ms. Tulika Kedia, with the goal of providing a world-class environment for aquatic sports. The grand opening ceremony was attended by distinguished swimmers, including Arjuna Awardee Mr. Bhanu Sachdeva, Olympian Mr. Virdhawal Khade, and India’s fastest female swimmer Ms. Rujuta Khade. Also present were youth icon Mr. Shalabh Kedia, Principal Ms. Nidhi Yadav, in her welcome address, shared her enthusiasm for how the natatorium will nurture young talent and ignite a passion for swimming.
On behalf of Ms Tulika Kedia, President and Pro Vice Chairperson of DPS MIHAN and Kamptee Road, Ms Nidhi Yadav read a message to motivate students by giving the example of Mr Mihir Sen, who swam the English Channel and encouraged students to be determined, focused and urged to be ready to work hard. Ms Nidhi Yadav, expressed her gratitude to Ms. Tulika Kedia and Director Ms. Savita Jaiswal for their continued guidance and support, saying, “This pool is not just another facility - it’s a symbol of our commitment to providing holistic education.” Mr. Bhanu Sachdeva praised the school's efforts to promote swimming, encouraging students to take up the sport as a way to build overall fitness. Olympian Mr. Virdhawal Khade shared words of inspiration, expressing hope that the school would one day produce national and international swimming champions. Ms. Rujuta Khade applauded the natatorium’s international standards, calling it an ideal platform for student growth in the sport.To celebrate the moment, the ace swimmers, joined by the school’s emerging swimming talents, dived into the pool for a few laps, reinforcing DPS MIHAN's dedication to nurturing future champions.
